Miss South Carolina USA Hosted by High Point Fire District

High Point Fire District was honored to host Miss South Carolina USA, Gracen Grainger, during the Watermelon Festival this past weekend. Miss Grainger began her visit with a helicopter tour of the area provided by Jordan Seidhom, owner of Carolina Scrap Iron. Miss Grainger then dedicated her time on Friday to installing smoke alarms with firefighters and filming a public service announcement video regarding the importance of smoke alarms. In addition to these activities, she also made appearances at the festival and local establishments. On Friday evening, local pageant winners were welcomed to High Point Station 1 for a meet and greet session with Miss Grainger, followed by a BBQ and s'mores gathering. Miss Grainger's visit concluded on Saturday morning with her participation atop Engine 21 in the Watermelon Festival parade.
