Volunteers from High Point Fire District responded to a reported brush and grass fire near Sims and Tory roads intersection. Upon reaching the scene, firefighters found a quarter acre of grassland ablaze along with burning brush in a ditch. Engine 11 established a hose line to attack the flames, while Brush 13 attacked the fire from another angle. Engine 41 provided additional support by ensuring water supply. The initial investigation indicates that the fire likely started due to a spark from farm equipment hitting a rock, igniting the grass field.
