Side Impact Crash

Intersection of SC-9 and Dudley Road

Thursday, November 14th, 7:28 PM

High Point Fire District, along with Pageland Rescue, Lifeguard EMS, and Lancaster County EMS, responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 9 and Dudley Road. Engine 11 arrived on the scene to find a four-door sedan that had collided with a pickup truck, impacting the passenger side and causing the pickup to roll over, coming to rest onto its passenger side.

Firefighters extricated one individual trapped inside the pickup truck. All other occupants from both vehicles had exited safely prior to their arrival. The care of the patients was subsequently transferred to Rescue and EMS teams for further evaluation and transportation.

To provide a safe working area for responders, Engine 11 blocked the Lancaster side of the roadway, while Engine 41 managed the Pageland side. Oil dry was utilized to mitigate fluid spills, reducing slip hazards on the scene.

In total, five patients were transported by Lifeguard EMS and Lancaster County EMS for medical care. After all patients were enroute to medical facilities, firefighters assisted tow operators in clearing debris from the roadway, facilitating the reopening of traffic.
