Extrication Training
Monday, May 6th, 7 PM
Tonight's training session at High Point Fire District involved two important evolutions for our volunteers: the controlled roll and the Darlington roll. The controlled roll drill focused on using a chain hoist to safely return a side-resting vehicle back onto its wheels. The second evolution, the Darlington roll, was developed in Darlington county and is utilized for roof-resting vehicles in challenging positions where doors are inaccessible. This technique involves a strut and chain system to tip the car for door access. Unfortunately, the Darlington roll had to be cut short due to an approaching lightning storm in the training area.
