Kirkley Rd. Jefferson

Sandhill, High Point, and Pageland Fire Departments responded to a structure fire reported on Kirkley Rd. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered an old farmhouse fully engulfed in flames, with the structure beginning to collapse.

Sandhill Engine 101 initiated an attack using a hose line from Kirkley Rd., supported by additional Sandhill apparatus supplying water. High Point Engine 11 arrived and initiated a deck gun attack. High Point Engine 21 accessed the scene through a pasture gate and deployed a hose line, also receiving water support from additional High Point apparatus.

Pageland Engine 1 provided additional manpower and breathing air support, while Lifeguard EMS stood by to ensure medical care was available should anyone sustain injuries during the operation. Multiple engines and tankers were used to shuttle water from a nearby hydrant near the intersection of Kirkley and Peach Orchard Rd.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
