High Point Fire volunteers assisted Lanes Creek Fire at a poultry barn fire on Riggins Rd. in Union County. When High Point arrived, Lanes Creek was already battling a fire in a poultry barn used for storage. The roof had collapsed, and the heat was posing a risk to an adjacent barn. Ladder 1 was tasked with setting up and initiating fire cooling from above. Tanker 22, Engine 11, and Engine 21, along with Union County tankers, participated in shuttling water from a nearby pond to the fire scene. Firefighters spent over an hour removing roofing tin to enable water access to the fire underneath. The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.
